Quality policy

Quality Policy of the Hydro-Engineering Institute

Having in mind that the quality of work process and performance is the most important factor of competitiveness and success on the market, our intent is to achieve business excellence that will be recognized by our clients and wider social community. For that reason, we base our quality policy on the following:

  • Each client shall be treated with equal professionalism and through communication, his current and future needs, interests and expectations shall be recognized;
  • Satisfaction of each client shall be ensured by provision of solutions that meet, and, where possible, exceed the expectations;
  • The services shall be provided in accordance with corresponding laws, regulations, technical standards and best available business practice;
  • Available human, technical and material resources shall be actively planned and efficiently used, which shall maintain flexible and dynamic organization when forming project teams;
  • Scientific and research work shall be stimulated, advanced technologies used and applied in practice as much as possible, for the benefit of social community;
  • Achievements in relevant scientific fields shall be followed, teaching staff shall further be developed and improved, active participation in the teaching and education process ensured, using state-of-the-art methods and teaching aids;
  • Capacity building of human resources shall be ensured through transfer of know-how to the younger generations of researchers and other employees, and continuing professional education shall be stimulated;
  • Each individual within the organization shall be enabled to progress according to the results achieved, and all employees shall, using adequate methods, be motivated to achieve better results;
  • The progress of employees and results achieved shall periodically be analyzed, possibilities shall systematically be recognised and development of human resources continually instigated, as well as the improvement of service quality.


Quality Policy of the Water Quality Testing Laboratory

The Water Quality Testing Laboratory is the constituent part of the Hydro-Engineering Institute of the Sarajevo Faculty of Civil Engineering, shareholding company Sarajevo. The success of this Laboratory is based on capability to meet the requests of clients in due time and with quality expected. The obligation of Laboratory is to improve and maintain a high level of quality in all aspects of testing process and its work.
Our business performance is based on our age-long experience, competent and professional staff, and consistent meeting of requirements of BAS EN ISO 17025 Standard. Implementation of the requirements of this Standard shall be based on the following principles:

  • Consistent application of good laboratory practice, open communication, quality of laboratory testing, satisfaction of interests of our clients and confidentiality of client’s data,
  • Non-participation in activities that could diminish trust into our professionalism,
  • Impartiality and consistence in work,
  • Application of only validated laboratory methods, using the testing equipment and materials with guaranteed quality,
  • Continued improvement of competence and education of employees, as a guarantee of work quality;
  • Systematic identification of deficiencies, stimulation of development and continued improvement of quality, type and scope of our services.

Implementation of the quality policy and achievement of set goals is in the first place the responsibility of Laboratory management, entire Laboratory staff, as well as all other employees whose work may affect the quality of work of the Laboratory.
